William T. "Tom" Wylie

William T. “Tom” Wylie, 81, of Perry passed away peacefully on Thursday October 12, 2017 at the Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw. He was born on June 23, 1936 in Port Alleghany, PA to the late Michael and Josephine (McDonald) Wylie. In addition to his parents, Tom is also predeceased by his first wife; Elma (Popp) Wylie.

Tom was married to Elma Popp in 1955 until her death in 1994. They had three children, Debra, Linda-deceased and Jeffrey-deceased. Tom serviced in the Army and was posted in Fontainebleau, France for duration of his tour from 1955-1958. Immediately after discharge he worked for 40 plus years for Rochester Telephone Company. He was very proud of being a US Serviceman and a Rochester Tele worker. He married again in October of 2000 to Sandy Chamberlain. Tom wintered in Winter Haven, FL for the past 23 years, which he enjoyed very much.

He is survived by his loving wife; Sandra Wylie of Perry; daughter Debra (Douglas) Kelly of TX.; grandchildren Bradley Kelly, Andy and Adam Gell.

There will be no prior calling hours. A 12:00 noon Memorial Service will be held on Friday October 20, 2017 at the Perry VFW Post 5009 located at 20 Washington Blvd. Perry, NY 14530 with full Military Honors. Tom will be laid to rest in Bath National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Veterans Outreach Center 447 South Ave. Rochester, NY 14620.
