William G. Batchelor Jr., age 76, of Perry, NY passed away on Monday September 20, 2021 at the Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born on December 9,1944, in Batavia, NY a son to the late William G. and Marion (Hall) Batchelor Sr.
Bill served with the US Army from 1965-1967.
He worked at Trojan Inc. in Batavia for many years and then as a correctional officer at Groveland Correctional Facility in Groveland for 25 years retiring in 2009.
Bill enjoyed going for walks, rides or outings with his late wife, playing cards, gardening, bowling and watching game shows on TV. He loved spending time with his family and cats.
He is survived by 2 daughters: Laura Yvonne Batchelor of Perry and Amy Lynn (Randy) Greig of Warsaw, 1 granddaughter: Kelsey D. Zeches, 3 step grandchildren: Brandi, Kayla and Nicole, 8 step great grandchildren: Adrienne, Max, Austin, Alec, Alexis, Thea, Ellie and Desi, his cat: Chief, along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his wife: Ellie E. (Meier) Batchelor who passed away on July 19, 2014, sister: Florence Jean (Robert) Schunk and sister-in-law: Evie Nichols.
Family and friends may call from 11am to 1pm on Friday September 24th at the Eaton-Watson Funeral Home, LLC. 98 North Main St. in Perry where funeral services will follow at 1pm.
Bill will be laid to rest in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in York.
