Willard “Bill” Zintel, age 77 of Silver Springs, NY passed away on Friday August 3, 2018 at his home.
He was born in Groveland, NY on August 10, 1940 a son to the late Harry A. and Anna M. (Megliore) Zintel.
Bill worked for LeRoy Machine Co. in LeRoy where he was in charge of the oil and boiler rooms retiring in 1991.
He was a very active member of the American Legion McKelton Post #350 in Perry where he was past commander. He organized the local Memorial parade for over 30 years, the annual fishing derby, helped in the selection committee for area boys to attend Boy’s State and was a bell ringer during the holiday season.
He is survived by his wife Sylvia A. (Aaron) Zintel whom he married on May 6, 1961, daughter: Anne (Joseph) Koson of Silver Springs, 2 sons: Jay (Kelly) Zintel of LeRoy, Willard “Patrick” (Judy) Zintel of Homosassa Springs, Fl., 2 sisters: Margaret (William) Brown of Mt. Morris, Donna (Robert) Atwood of Nunda, 1 brother: Harry (Debbie) Zintel Jr. of Nunda, sister-in-law: Sue Zintel of Arkansas, 6 grandchildren: Tiffany and Nathaniel Koson, Brian, Michael, Jenna and Nicole Zintel, 3 step grandchildren: David, Alex and Philip Hahn, 3 great grandchildren: Tyler, Lance and Maverick ,1 step great grandson: Evan along with many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents he is preceded in death by a sister: Cheryl Zintel, 2 brothers: Francis and Chris Zintel.
A Celebration of Bill’s life will be held on Friday August 31st from 3-7pm at the Perry Fireman's Building, Perry Village Park in Perry, where a Prayer Service and Legion Service will take place at 4:00 P.M.
He will be laid to rest in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Perry.
