Sharon A. Holtz

Sharon A. Holtz, age 83, of Perry, passed away on Sunday September 8, 2024 at the Wyoming County Skilled Nursing Facility in Warsaw where she had been residing.

She was born in Perry, New York on May 18, 1941, the oldest of 3 children to the late Frank W. and Marian E. (McDonald) Holtz.

Sharon was lifelong resident of Perry, living in the same house since 1943, a 1959 graduate of Perry Central High School. She was a legal secretary for the late Jules A. Beckary Attorney office from July 3, 1959 to July 12, 1995 after his passing, Thomas Fendick Attorney from October 10, 1995 moving on to the office of Bradley Janson Attorney on January 1, 2006 and Raymond Sciarrino attorney offices retiring in 2019.

She was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Community (St. Joseph’s Church) in Perry where she was on the finance committee since 1990, She joined the Perry Rotary Club in 1989 where she was secretary since 1992, She received the Paul Harris award through the Perry Rotary Club in 2001, the first woman to receive this award in the Perry Rotary, Perry Alumni Association where she was the former historian since 1976 and secretary since 1970, Past President of the Perry Area Chamber of Commerce and past Secretary/treasurer of the Perry Area Chamber of Commerce. Sharon enjoyed staying busy with work and all the organizations she belonged to. In her downtime she enjoyed visits from her family, knitting, and doing crafts.

She is survived by nieces: Suzette (Peter) Boulay, Teresa Baltzer both of Rochester, sister-in-law: Loretta Jewsbury of Churchville, 2 great nephews: Zachary and Joshua Baltzer, along with many friends.

Along with her parents Sharon is preceded in death by a sister: Diane McMaster who passed away in 1980, brother: William “Kevin” Holtz who passed away in 1993.

Family and friends may call from on Tuesday September 17th from 4-7pm

at the Eaton-Watson Funeral Home 98 North Main St. in Perry.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday September 18th at 10am at St. Isidore Catholic Community (St. Joseph’s Church) 71 Leicester St. in Perry.

Sharon will be laid to rest in Leicester Cemetery in Leicester, New York.
