Salley D. Hughes, age 94, of Perry passed away on Tuesday July 30, 2024 at the Wyoming County Skilled Nursing Facility in Warsaw where she had been residing.
She was born on January 24,1930 in Bradford, PA. a daughter to the late Ferdnand F and Hazel I. (Marble) Feraldi.
Salley was a graduate of Sardina High School. She was a homemaker who worked for the Perry Public Library.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Perry where she was active in the United Methodist Women, she was a member of the Mutual Friends Group and Tuesday Club in Perry. She enjoyed reading, knitting, crocheting, sewing, doing needlepoint and especially loved time spent with her family.
She is survived by a daughter: Robin (Michael) Fitch of Warsaw, 2 sons: Steven (Barbara) Hughes of Louisville, NE, Patrick (Karen) Hughes of Mansfield Center, CT., son-in-law: Norman (Katie) Zawisza of St. Albans, VT., daughter-in-law: Dawnne Hughes of Batavia, 14 grandchildren: Peter Hughes, Maggie (Gary) Robb, Matthew (Aaron) Dumbleton, Connor Hughes, Chase (Elizabeth) Hughes, Timothy (Amy) Hughes, Amanda Martini-Hughes, Brittany Hughes, Jordan (Donna) Hughes, Matthew Lewis Fitch, Zachary (Taylor) Zawisza, Ethan (Fallyn) Zawisza, Jed ( Amber Barbeau) Zawisza and Beau Zawisza, 11 great grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
Along with her parents Salley is preceded in death by her husband: Donald who passed away in 2012, daughter: Beth Ann Zawisza who passed away in 2012, son: Michael who passed away in 2011.
Family and friends may call from 2-5 pm on Sunday August 11th at the Eaton-Watson Funeral Home 98 North Main St. in Perry.
Funeral services will be held on Monday August 12th at the First United Methodist Church 35 Covington St. in Perry at 11am.
Salley will be laid to rest in West Perry Cemetery in Perry.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Wyoming County Nursing Facility (Peach unit activities fund) 400 N. Main St. Warsaw, New York 14569. The family would like to express their gratitude for the wonderful care provided to Salley during her stay.
