Roland C. “Reggie” Van Allen, 81, of Nunda went home to be with his Savior on Monday, April 14, 2025 at Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Reggie was born on July 13, 1943 in Warsaw, a son of the late Delbert and Geraldine J. (Wright) Van Allen.
He was a graduate of Wyoming Central School and attended the Baptist Bible Seminary in Johnson City New York. He served his country honorably with the United States Army.
Reggie was a manager of rates and divisions at Genesee & Wyoming Railroad, retiring in 2004.
He was a member of the Castile Baptist Church and Wyoming County Bible Club Committee. He was a supporter of many missionaries. Reggie enjoyed working in the yard whether mowing his lawn or tending to a garden, reading and working on vehicles. He was known for his quick wit and joking with others. He loved a Dad joke, but above all He loved studying his bible as his Faith in God was the most important influence in his life.
Reggie is survived by his wife of 60 years: Norma J. (Safford) whom he married on Valentine’s Day 2/14/1965, daughter: Cheryl (Renzo) Van Allen-Ramos of Harrisburg, PA., son: Daniel (Becky) Van Allen of Dansville, granddaughter: Mercedes Ramos, brother: Ronald H. (Annette) Van Allen of Wyoming along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, April 17, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Eaton-Watson Funeral Home, 98 North Main Street in Perry, and on Friday April 18th from 10:00am – 11:00am followed by funeral services at 11:00am at the funeral home.
Reggie will be laid to rest in LaGrange Cemetery in Pavilion.
