Paul C. Deiter Jr., age 85 of Perry, NY passed away on Wednesday November 13, 2024 at the Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw surrounded by his family.
He was born on December 8,1938 in Warsaw, NY a son to the late Paul C. Deiter Sr. and Dorris (Bauer) Deiter Buchholz.
Paul was a carpenter for the Rochester Carpenter’s Union for 30 plus years. He drove bus for Kemp’s Bus Service in Lakeville and Letchworth Central School District.
He served our country in the United Sates National Guard. He was a Certified EMT and was a long-time member of the Perry Ambulance. He was an avid HAM-CR radio operator. He enjoyed playing golf, camping, playing bingo and going to the casino. He loved to bowl and back in the day he was very good at it, often rolling scores in the high 200’s. He attended the Brick Presbyterian Church in Perry for many years. All who knew Paul liked him. He was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather and will be dearly missed by his family.
He is survived by his wife: Christine Dieter whom he married on May 24, 2014,1 son: Brian (Danielle Brunner) Deiter of Perry, step daughter: Samantha (Kada) Newburey of Hornell, brother: Dusty (Diane) Deiter of Silver Springs, 3 sisters: Sallye (Larry) Truesdell of silver springs, Beverly (Tom) Ling of East Aurora, Molly (Jim) Bodensteiner of Perry, several grandchildren, step grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his first wife of over 50 years: Wenole “Winnie” (Ackerman) Deiter who passed away in 2013, son: Collins (Donna) Deiter, daughters: Jody Jones, Theresa Yamonico, grandson: Collins “CJ” Deiter, step-grandson: Joseph Cobb, sister: Barbara Lee and Step-father: Horace “Pete” Buchholz.
Family and friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8pm on Tuesday November19th at the Eaton-Watson Funeral Home 98 North Main St in Perry.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday November 20th at 11:00am at the Brick Presbyterian Church corner of Church and N. Main St. in Perry.
Paul will be laid to rest in Elmwood Cemetery in Silver Springs, New York.
