Patricia L. Welshofer

Patricia L. Welshofer, age 90, of Perry, passed away on Saturday September 7, 2024 at Suzanne’s Comfort Care Home in Perry.

She was born in Buffalo, New York on June 20, 1934 a daughter to the late Raymond J. and Charlotte C. (Luckenbach) Atwood.

Pat was a 1952 graduate of Perry Central High School, Bryant and Stratton College in Buffalo and received her Bachelor’s degree in teaching from Albany State Teacher’s College. She was a typing/shorthand teacher at Bryant and Stratton College and Mt. Morris Central High School prior to raising her 3 daughters.

She was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Community (St. Joseph’s Church in Perry). Pat was a talented musician playing the piano and organ at St. Mary’s Church in Geneseo and St. Joseph’s Church in Perry. She was the choir director at St. Mary’s Church for many years. Her love for playing the piano continued throughout her entire life. She enjoyed sitting on her porch drinking coffee, visiting with neighbors and enjoyed walks in the woods.

She is survived by 3 daughters: Martha Welshofer of Perry, Elizabeth (Stacy) Slocum of Pavilion, Katherine (Chip Matthews) Welshofer of Silver Springs, son-in-law: Robert Roney of Rochester, 4 grandchildren: Aaron Roney, Julia (Brandon Becker) Roney, Harrison Slocum, Grace Slocum, 2 step-grandsons: Samuel and Porter Matthews,2 great grandchildren: Ryder and Sage, 3 nephews: Robert Jr., Daniel and Thomas Atwood, along with several great nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents Pat is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years: Harry L. Welshofer who passed away in 2011, infant son: Harry L. Welshofer who passed away in 1972, brother: Robert (Jean) Atwood and Henry (Mary) Atwood. 

There will be no prior calling hours.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday September 12th at 10:00am at St. Isidore Catholic Community (St. Joseph’s Church) 71 Leicester St in Perry.

Pat will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Geneseo, New York.
