Marilyn L. Deaton, 75 of Wyoming, passed away on Monday February 19, 2018 at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mt. Morris.
Marilyn was born in Hornell, NY on August 11, 1942 a daughter to the late Merle and Bernice (Slatt) Rice.
Marilyn was a graduate of Alfred –Almond Central School and received her nursing degree through Craig Colony. She worked in the nursing field her entire life starting at Craig Developmental Center in Sonyea, moving onto the former TB Hospital in Mt. Morris, a substitute nurse at Perry Central School, the former Mallory Timers in Warsaw and retired from the former Geneseo Skilled Nursing Facility in Geneseo.
She was a member Perry Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher. She enjoyed knitting, doing crossstitch, camping and reading.
She is survived by her husband George C. Deaton whom she married on June 14, 1969, 2 sons: Robert (Jill) Deaton of Spokane, WA., and John Deaton of Perry, a sister: Wilma Ruth (Fay) Cleveland of Lockport, 6 grandchildren,6 great grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
Friends are invited to call on Saturday, March 3, 2018 from 1-3 pm at Eaton-Watson Funeral Home, LLC. 98 North Main Street in Perry, where services will follow at 3.
She will be laid to rest in Glenwood Cemetery in Perry.
Memorials may be made to the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society.
