Lucretia F. “Lou” Zamejc, age 91 of Perry, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville.
Lucretia was born on January 26, 1929 in Mt. Morris, New York, a daughter to the late Peter and Julia (Scarpino) Pirano.
Lou worked in the office at the former Grants Department store in Perry. She also helped run the former Walt’s Men Shop in Perry with her second husband Walter Zamejc.
She was a member of St. Isidore’s Catholic Parish (St. Joseph’s Church) in Perry. She enjoyed baking, cooking, was famous for her pies, chocolate chip cookies and breads, reading, doing puzzles, and a great babysitter for all her grandchildren. She was especially proud of all her family.
She is survived by 2 daughters: Roselyn (Benjamin) Rudney of Mt. Morris and Patricia (James) Prince of Perry, a son: Donald (Sagrario) Trubia of Tuscon, AZ. 6 grandsons: Brian (Michelle) Rudney, Joseph (Laura) Rudney, Jeffrey (Andrea) Prince, Jonathon (Jennifer) Prince, James (Rachel) Prince and Jeremy Prince, 4 step-children: Margaret, Edward, Danette and Ann along with many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband: Dominick M. Trubia who passed away in 1979, second husband: Walter Zamejc who passed away in 2006, siblings Frances Bonadonna, Joseph and John Pirano.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the convenience of the family, a Memorial Mass will be announced at a later date.
She will be laid to rest in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Mt. Morris.
