Karen L. Bates, age 68 of Perry passed away at Eastside Nursing Home in Warsaw on Friday November 25, 2016.
Karen was born in Rochester, New York on November 7, 1948 a daughter of the late George and Elizabeth (Quigley) Roberts.
Karen was a graduate of Monroe High School in Rochester. She was a waitress at Copper Kettle Restaurant in Rochester for many years before moving to Perry. She retired from the Silver Lake Sportsman’s Club in Perry where she was a cook.
She was a member of the Silver Lake Sportsman’s Club, Perry Vets Club and the Perry VFW. She enjoyed playing euchre, going to the casinos and gardening.
She is survived by her husband: Steven J. Bates whom she married in August of 1995, 3 sisters: Jackie (James) Secor of Albion, Margaret Hill of Albion, Jerry (Rick Burdick) Davis of Ontario, 2 brothers: Richard (Kris) Roberts of NC, Kenneth Roberts of Rochester 2 grandchildren: Kari Crawley of Webster and Charles “Buddy” (Robin) Crawly Rochester, 1 great grandson: Charles Crawley, along with many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents she is preceded in death by a daughter: Rhonalee Smith and a sister: Nancy Smith.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
