Jonathan Pettit, age 73, of Perry, NY, passed away on Thursday November 9, 2017 at Suzanne’s Comfort Care Home in Perry surrounded by his family.
Jonathan was born in Niagara Falls, NY on March 25, 1944 a son to the late Earl Pettit and Elizabeth (Tucker) Pettit-Witko.
Jon worked for Townsend Oil Company for many years as a tank setter.
He sang many years with the Warsaw Barbershoppers Quartet, and the chorus of the Genesee. He enjoyed writing poetry and woodworking.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years Ann (Landers) Pettit whom he married on November 12, 1982, a daughter: Alison (James) Schoeffler of Webster, Charles (Janessa) Avery of Greece and William Pettit of Perry, a step-brother: Bobby Witko of Niagara Falls, 9 grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Colin, Connor, Lacy, Nathan, Aleah, Grayson, Derek and Cole, along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his first wife: Lillian (Francis) Pettit, sister: Julie Price, brother: Mark Pettit and step-brother: Jimmy Witko.
A Memorial service will be held on Monday November 13th at the Perry Baptist Church in Perry at 11:00 A.M.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Suzanne’s Comfort Care Home 167 N. Main St. Perry, New York 14530.
