Jean W. Nugent, age 88, of Perry passed away on Tuesday May 9, 2017 at Unity Hospital in Rochester.
Jean was born in Perry, New York on June 27, 1928 a daughter of the late Leon and Florence Wellman.
Jean was a graduate of Perry High School. She worked many years as the former Star Market in Perry as a cashier, she later owned and operated the former Sears and Roebuck Store in Perry until she retired in 1987.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Perry. She enjoyed sewing, crafting, playing bridge, going to the casinos and enjoyed her cats.
She is survived by two children: Sandra (Richard) Baar and William (Karen) Nugent both of Sarasota, Fla 3 grandchildren: Jennifer (Andrew) Rehmeyer, Brian (Deborah Stephens) Baar, and Jeffrey Baar, a great granddaughter: Anna Rehmeyer, along with 2 nephews.
Along with her parent she is preceded in death by her husband: Richard W. Nugent who passed away in 1988, two sisters: Lenna Loomis and Harriett Beachel.
Family and friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8pm on Monday May 15th at the Eaton-Watson Funeral Home, LLC. 98 N. Main St. in Perry.
Services will be held on Tuesday May 16th at 11:00 am at the funeral home.
She will be laid to rest in Maple Grove Cemetery in Gainesville.
Memorials may be made to the Wyoming County SPCA 808 Creek Rd. Attica, New York 14011.
