James L. Post, age 89, of Perry, NY passed away on Thursday March 10, 2022 at the Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw..
He was born in the family homestead in Perry on August 28, 1932, a son to the late David L. and Gladys B. (Flucker) Post.
Jim was a 1950 graduate of Perry High School.
He was a life long farmer, owning and operating the Cooked S Farms in Perry.
He attended the First Congregational Church in Perry Center. Jim was a member of the Perry Rotary Club where he loved being involved in their annual Rotary Show. He was the past President of the Perry Center Fire Department, former 4-H leader, and former Wyoming County Fair beef superintendent. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, attending all his childrens school events. Family was a big part of Jim’s life. He was an avid Buffalo Bills and Syracuse University Fan.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years: Helen L. (Fisher) Post whom he married on August 17, 1953, daughter: Polly (Timothy) Huff of Perry, 3 sons: Michael (Diana) Post of Perry, Patrick (Janet) Post of Kansas, Timothy (Michele) Post of Perry, 8 grandchildren: Amanda (Travis) Fitzsimmons, Joseph Post, Rebecca (Laura) Barnes, David Post, Cassidy ( Derek ) Fuoco, Cheyanne Post, Jandee (Andrew) Naves and Seth (Tina) Post, 13 great grandchildren, along with several nieces, nephews and friends.
Along with his parents he is preceded in death by a granddaughter Tabitha Huff and sisters: Mary Chappel and Valerie Cardillo.
A Celebration of Jim’s life will he held on June 11th at 9:00A.M. at the family farm 7905 Page Road in Perry.
