Howard H. “Pete” Kelly, age 96, of Perry, NY passed away on Saturday May 28, 2022 at his home in Perry surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on November 19, 1925 in Perry, NY, a son of the late Robert J. and Helen (Coleman) Kelly.
Howard “Pete”
worked on the family farm until graduating from Perry Central High School, he served with the US Navy after graduation and returned back to Perry where he was a mail carrier for the New York Postal service for 27 ½ years retiring in 1982.
He was a member of the Brick Presbyterian Church in Perry. He enjoyed collecting old bottles, going to auctions, weekends at the former Castile Flea Market where he would sell items, picnics at Letchworth State Park, tending to his vegetable garden, feeding the birds and wintering in Florida.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy D. (Shepard) Waite Kelly whom he married on October 15, 1988, a son: Terry (Brenda) Kelly of Hornell, NY, 4 step children: Kathy (Gary) Nichols of Pavilion, Douglas (Suzy) Waite of Pavilion, Mark (Gerry) Waite of Vero Beach, FL., Laura (Martin) Brodie of LeRoy, 12 step grandchildren,10 great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his first wife: Beryl (Springett) Kelly who passed away in 1979, step son: Thomas Waite, and brothers: Alfred, Gerald and Leonard Kelly.

for the excellent care and compassion give
n during the last few months of his life.
A Memorial service will be held on Thursday June 2nd at 11:00am at the Brick Presbyterian Church North Main St. in Perry.
Pete will be laid to rest in Glenwood Cemetery in Perry.
