Fred B. Willis, age 82 of Perry, NY passed away on Wednesday May 29, 2024 at Strong Memorial Hospital.

He was born on March 14, 1942 in Italy, New York a son to the late Lyman and Emma (House) Willis.

Fred served with the US Navy during the Vietnam War.

Fred worked for the former Mallory Timers in Warsaw and retired in 2002 from Craig DDSO where he worked at the Lakeview IRA in Silver Lake. After retirement he mowed lawns for Wolcott’s Grass Farms.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Perry, lifetime member of the Perry VFW, American Legion McKelton Post 350 in Perry, Nunda Historical Society, Perry Seniors Club, Silver and Gold Club in Castile and Young at Heart Senior Citizen Club in Pavilion, volunteered for the Clothes Closet in Perry and supervised the Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign for many years and was a former coach for the youth girls’ softball team through the Kiwanis Club.

He is survived by his wife: Sharon (Lauko) Willis whom he married on February 11, 1967, son: Gregory (Tami) Willis of Wyoming,  daughter: Terri (Donald Hayes) Cross of Warsaw, sisters: Myra Lincoln of Stanley, NY, Emma Jean Ferrin of Yeller, AR., brothers: Roger (Louise) Willis of Perry, Charles (Sandra) Willis of Wyoming, 3 grandson: Anthony (Amy McGinnis) Willis, Michael (Nicole Wagner) Willis and Zachary Cross, 4 great grandchildren: Gavin and Audrey Willis, Nora and Evelyn Willis, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Along with his parents, Fred is preceded in death by 2 brothers: Clarence (Shirley) Willis and Richard (Jane) Willis.

Family and friends may call from2-4 and 6-8pmon Monday June 10th at the Eaton-Watson Funeral Home 98 North Main St. in Perry. American Legion service will be held during the calling hours at 7:30pm.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday June 11th at 11:00am at the First United Methodist Church 35 Covington St. in Perry.

Fred will be laid to rest in Glenwood Cemetery in Perry with full military honors.
