Ernest F. Irwin, 78, of Oakfield, passed away on Thursday March 27, 2025 at the LeRoy Village Green where he had been residing.
He was born in Warsaw, New York on September 1, 1946, a son to the late Ralph E. and Ella J. (Woodworth) Irwin.
Ernie was a milk truck driver for Baker and Baker in Warsaw and had worked for his brother-in-law at Butler Construction and Sunny Knoll Farms.
He was a member of the Perry VFW. Ernie enjoyed watching NASCAR Races and football games. He loved to work and spend times with his family and friends.
He is survived by 3 daughters: Shannon (William) Pohl of Oakfield, JoAnna (Andrew) Rowcliffe of Medina and Michelle (Matthew) Howard of Attica, 8 siblings: Florence Rice, JoAnn Butler and Betty (Alfred) Kelly all of Perry, Nancy (Raymond) Minnick of Castile, Nelson (Judy) Irwin of Auburn, Carl (Judy) Irwin of Perry, Lucille Kozak of Short Tract, David (Chris) Irwin of Perry, 4 grandchildren: Gage Irwin, Holly Grayson, Natalie Pfeiffer and Matthew Rowcliffe, 1 great grandson: Clayton Irwin, along with several nieces, nephews and friends.
Along with his parents Ernie is preceded in death by sister: Shirley (Dwayne) Wilcox, brother: Howard (Phyllis) Irwin, brothers-in-law: Robert Kozak, Thomas Rice and Donald Butler.
Family and friends may call from 2-4pm on Thursday April 3rd at the Eaton-Watson Funeral Home 98 N. Main St. Perry. A time for family and friends to share memories will follow the visitation at 4pm. A Celebration of Ernie’s Life will follow at the Perry VFW.
Ernie will be laid to rest in Glenwood Cemetery in Perry.
