Ellen J. Whitmore

Ellen J. Whitmore, 91, of Penn Yan formerly of Martinville Rd, Warsaw and Lake Rd, Perry, NY, entered into rest on Wednesday July 13, 2016 at the Homestead in Penn Yan, NY

She was born on May 5, 1925 in Rochester, NY the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Scheuneman) Foote.
Ellen was a 1944 graduate of Perry High School.

Ellen was a passionate crafter. She volunteered at the Wyoming County Fair for ten years as the coordinator of the Craft Building. She was an excellent cook and she enjoyed sharing her goodies with family and friends. She also enjoyed Square Dancing and going to Civil War Skirmishes with Fred.

Surviving are her two sons: Dennis (Jennine) Whitmore of Penn Yan, NY and Bruce Whitmore of Los Angeles, CA. , two grandchildren: Jeremy (Stephanie) Whitmore of Columbus, MS and Wendy Whitmore (Paul Frank) of Hilton, NY. Along with many nieces, nephews and her adoptive family & caregivers at The Homestead.
She is pre-deceased by her husband Clair Whitmore(1974), and her significant other Fred Bliss(2012), siblings Gerald Foote (2011), Viola Hopkins(2009), and baby brother Lester Foote (1933), nephews Dick & Gary Hopkins, Larry Foote, and niece Barb Cornett.

Family & Friends may call from 11am To 1pm on Tuesday July 19th at the Eaton-Watson Funeral Home, LLC. 98 North Main St. in Perry where services will follow at 1pm.
She will be laid to rest in the Glenwood Cemetery in Perry.
