Elizabeth L. "Betty" Phillips

Elizabeth L. “Betty” Phillips, age 96 of Silver Springs passed away on Saturday April 3, 2021at the home of her son surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Wyoming, New York on February 20, 1925 a daughter to the late Romanzo O. and Ruby E. (Seldon) Brown.
She was a 1943 graduate of Perry Central School and attended SUNY Geneseo.
Betty was a homemaker who was the director at Tiny Tot University in Perry for 15 years.
She was an active member at the Baptist Church of Perry where she was in the church choir, former deaconess and Sunday school teacher and a member of the Class Original a ladies group through the church. A 50 years of service as member of the Mutual Friends of Perry. She enjoyed painting, reading, going for rides through Letchworth State Park, camping, tending to her flower gardens or just quiet times spent with family.
She is survived by her husband of 75 years: John C. “Cal” Phillips whom she married on September 1, 1945 at the Baptist Church of Perry, 2 sons: John Phillips of Angelica, David (Janet) Phillips of Silver Springs, 7 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
Along with her parents she is preceded in death by a daughter-in-law: Linda Phillips, siblings Dorothy Warner, Margaret Mason, Romanzo O.Brown Jr. and William W. Brown.
A Celebration of Betty’s life will be held on Saturday April 10th at 3pm at the Baptist Church of Perry 77 N. Main St. Perry.
Betty will be laid to rest in LaGrange Cemetery in LaGrange.
