Eleanor Ina Phillips Colegrove, age 92, of Perry passed away on Sunday May 17th at the Eastside Nursing Home in Warsaw where she had been residing.
Eleanor was born in Hornell New York on August 6, 1922 a daughter to the late Fred Neil and Marion Harvey Phillips.
She graduated from Hornell High School in 1940. Eleanor married Phillip Wayne Colegrove on June 4, 1942. For several years they resided in Hornell and also inWaterford, PA where Eleanor was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Firemen’s Auxiliary. While living in Perry she was active in the Brick Presbyterian Church and served as Treasurer for several years. She was an accomplished seamstress spending many hours creating at her sewing machine for family and church. And while her fresh homemade cookies were always wonderful, without a doubt her canned peaches were the best. She took great pride in her back yard rose garden.
Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband; Phillip who passed away on December 6, 2011 and three brothers; Richard, John and George Phillips.
She is survived by her son; Gary (Regina) Colegrove of Warsaw, her daughter: Linda Colegrove (Richard) McConnell if Huntington, IN, four grandchildren: Becky McConnell (Keith) Lord, Sean (Laura) McConnell, Lisa Colegrove(Shane) Evans, Jason (Betsy) McConnell, 14 great grandchildren: Ashley, Alex, Bryce and Devon Lord, Jade, Jensen, Colegrove, Carter, Caeden, Elijah (McCollum) and Emma McConnell, Quinn and Finley McConnell and Rachel Evans, 3 great great grandchildren: Azen Lawler, Liam Lord and Noah McConnell along with many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call from 1-2pm on Wednesday May 20th at the Eaton-Watson Funeral Home, LLC. 98 North Main St. in Perry where funeral services will follow at 2pm with the Rev. Kavin Rossman officiating from the Brick Presbyterian Church.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Eastside Nursing Home (Activities Department) 62 Prospect St. Warsaw, NY 14569.
