PAUL G. SCHNEIBLE

Deeply loved husband, father and friend, Dr. Paul George Schneible, DVM departed this world on Monday, November 27th, 2023, at age 79.

Raised in Central NY (Verona, and Holland Patent) Paul settled in Perry, NY and was invited to be a founding partner alongside Drs. Skinner, Kreutter and Chamberlain in the Perry Veterinary Clinic, PLLC where he worked for over 40 years (1969 to 2010). After leaving the Perry Vet Clinic, Paul continued to practice part-time until October 2022 in other roles.

The oldest of four sons in a dairy farming family in Oneida County, Paul was proud to have graduated from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (1966) and the College of Veterinary Medicine (1969) at Cornell University and grateful to have had the opportunity to serve the NYS Board of Regents & State Board for the profession for many terms.

Paul was quick to tell people "he never worked a day in his life", explaining that he truly loved his work. He approached it as a calling—at any hour of the day or night. He was many things to many people, and most especially animals—his best of friends. He was a healer, listener, prankster, and guide. The love and grace Paul applied to all things in life and its absence will be most painfully felt.

No matter the occasion or place—rabies clinic, small animal office visit, or milk parlor, his genuine and authentic care and concern were a constant. He always had an ear and story for the people who brought the patients. This was a most valuable gift he gave, hard earned, and humbly shared with great grace.

In mid-October 2023, Paul was diagnosed with esophageal cancer, and subsequent imaging revealed that it had metastasized to other areas of the body. He was a comfortable patient at Highland Hospital in Rochester from mid-November until his passing.

Paul leaves behind his loving wife of fifty-three years, Theresa (Terry) Schneible; daughters Sandra Schneible and Dr. Susan Schneible, DVM; brother Robert Schneible (Holland Patent, NY); nephews Timothy Schneible and Steven Schneible; nieces Christine Stoops, Kelly Healey, Kim Oliver, Michelle Bradbury, Tina Bradbury and Debbie Bradbury.

He is predeceased by his beloved daughter Tracy Schneible (2022); brothers John (Jackie) Schneible and Francis (Terry) Schneible; his parents, Ann (Boncella) and George Schneible; and mother and father-in-law Wanda and Boleslaw Godlewski.

Remembrances may be made to the Perry Education Foundation (perryeducationfoundation.org) where the family is establishing a scholarship in his name. This scholarship will benefit students interested in pursuing higher education in Veterinary medicine, animal sciences, or agriculture.
