Charlotte Serventi, 95, of Perry, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2018, at the Livingston County Nursing Center.
Charlotte was born on August 6, 1922, a daughter of Russell Hartman and Grace Crismon Hartman of Rimersburg, Pa. Charlotte was one of six children for whom she maintained a lifelong loyalty and affection. James (Jim) Hartman and Patricia (Pat) Lewis predeceased Charlotte. Joseph (Joe) and his wife, Shirley, the twins, Jack Hartman and Jeanne McCormick, all of Pennsylvania, visited Charlotte in September 2017, to celebrate being together once again. For many decades, the Hartman family would gather in State College, Pa, the weekend prior to Christmas, to celebrate with their beloved mother,”Gammy,” along with all of their children and grandchildren. It was a joyful event that all family members cherished.
Charlotte married Mark Serventi, also of Rimersburg, in 1946. They had one son, Michael James Serventi, who predeceased Charlotte. The Serventi family moved to Perry in 1954, when Mark and his brother Lew, started Lew - Mark Baking Company, a franchise of Archway Cookies.
Charlotte immersed herself into the Perry community. She was a member of the Brick Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday school in Mike’s early years. Charlotte enjoyed bridge, made beautiful ceramic pieces, and she played golf. Charlotte was well known for being sociable, talkative and her sharp memory skills. She never forgot a birthday, anniversary or special event for those she loved. She would even remember what one may have worn to a wedding 10 years prior. Most of all, Charlotte was a devoted “Grandma” to Jesse and Michaela. She never missed their sporting events, concerts, birthdays or other momentous occasions. Grandpa and Grandma Serventi were the most nurturing, loving and fun grandparents any child could wish for.
Charlotte is survived by daughter-in-law, Gail Serventi, Jesse, Lauren, Luke, Cole and Leo Serventi, Michaela, Erick, Brennan and Archie Davis, her three siblings and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Monday April 30, 2018 at 11 A.M. at the Brick Presbyterian Church on N. Main St. in Perry.
