Shirley H. Grant, age 78 of Perry passed away on Tuesday August 29, 2023 at the Wyoming County Nursing Facility in Warsaw of an aggressive cancer of only 2 months.

She was born in Margaretville, New York on August 10,1945 a daughter to the late Anna (Mayes) and William Mead.

Shirley was a former school bus driver for Cobleskill Central School and woodworker in Cobleskill. She enjoyed woodworking, sewing, photography, going to the casino, going on walks and bird and cloud watching. “She was the kindest, sweetest, most caring person you would ever meet.” She was always there to give a helping hand to anyone who needed it.

She is survived by her companion of 20 years: David Mosher of Perry, daughters: Jeanette Debbie Shaw of Summit, Brenda Calbo of Delevan, son: Dennis Grant of Georgia, 5 grandchildren: Adam, Patrick and Ellsworth Shaw, Rachel Blankerberg and Jonathon Calbo, 14 great grandchildren, sisters: Virginia and Ellen, brother: Gerald, “sister-in-law”: Sheila Jaggard of Perry, niece: Cathy Koziel, nephews: Bill, Bob, Steve and Scott Jaggard and families, along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by brothers: Harold and Donald Mead, grandson: Justin Calbo, and great great grandson: Justin Russell Blankerberg.

A Celebration of Shirley's life will be held on Sunday September 24th at 3:00pm at the First United Methodist Church 35 Covington St. in Perry.
