Lois W. Wyant, age 83, of Perry, died Monday March 3, 2014 at the Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw. She was born in Rushford, NY on December 22, 1930 a daughter of the late Elmer and Evelyn Arlie Davis Waite.
She was a graduate of Perry High School and Rochester Business Institute. She was the manager at the Perry Central School District luncheon program for 25 years retiring in 1989.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Perry Center, Evening Women’s Group at the church, Wyoming County Home Bureau, Red Hat Society and The Winnebago Group. She volunteered at the Episcopal Church Thrift store in Perry and cut coupons with people in the church to distribute to families overseas who are serving our country. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, baking, cooking, reading, doing jigsaw puzzles, going to senior luncheons with her friends, and especially enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by a daughter: Doreen (Wayne Hibbard) Oliver of Holley, three sons: Douglas (Bobbie Huntz) Wyant of Perry, Donald (Karen) Wyant of Perry, Duane (Kristy Grisewood) Wyant of Castile, 2 sisters: Rowena Meiler of Cheektowaga and Betty Lou Acker of Helena, MT, 15 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.
PRECEDED IN DEATH: Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Merton C. Wyant who died on March 3, 2011, siblings: Bernida VanValkenburg, Velma Horton, Max and Harold Waite.
Family and friends may call from 3-7pm on Thursday March 6th at the Eaton-Watson Funeral Home, LLC. 98 North Main St. in Perry.
Services will follow visitation at 7pm on Thursday.
Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Perry Center.
In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the First Congregational Church in Perry Center.
