Linda Marie Powers, age 65, passed away at her home in Perry on Sunday January 12, 2020.
She was born in Warsaw, New York on May 19, 1954 a daughter to Francis Patrick “Pat” and Helen (Callahan) Powers.
Linda was a graduate of Wyoming Central School.
Linda helped on her parents’ farm when she was younger, after graduation she worked for the Wyoming County Community Hospital, Lapp Insulator and Marking Tubing. She worked many years for Champion Products as a shipping clerk until the plant closed. She returned to work as a shipping clerk for Azerty in Orchard Park, and part time for the Honeycomb after school program at the Perry Elementary School.
Linda loved her nieces and nephews, often offering her loving hand in their care when they were young. Linda loved and took great pride in preserving fruit and vegetables, as well as baking, -especially for those nieces and nephews. She was a talented knitter and seamstress. She made numerous afghan and fleece blankets for family and friends as gifts. These treasures will continue to warm hearts long after her passing.
She is survived by her loving son: Andrew Powers of Virginia, brother: Charles (Betty) Powers of Wyoming, sisters: Ann (Roger) Robb of Honeoye Falls, Jean (Mark) Pachuta and Judy (John) McClurg both of Perry, sister-in-law: Charlene Powers of Perry along with many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother: Francis Patrick “Pat” Powers Jr. who passed away last November.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday January 18th starting at 6:00pm with services following at 7:30pm at the Eaton-Watson Funeral Home, LLC. 98 North Main St. in Perry.
She will be laid to rest in St. Michael’s Cemetery in Warsaw.
