Dennis M. Murphy Sr., age 76, of Perry, NY, who had been residing in the NYS Veterans Home at Batavia passed away on Friday, November 17th at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
He was born on February 4, 1947 in Warsaw, NY a son to the late Frank H. and Marian E. (Jagiello) Murphy.
Dennis was a graduate of Perry Central High School, after graduating he enter the US Air Force from 1966-1972. He was a parts manager at NAPA Auto Parts in Perry and Alden. He was a member of the Perry Vets Club and Silver Lake Sportsmen’s Club. He was a huge fan of NASCAR racing, loved animals especially his dog Tippie, enjoyed times traveling to Old Forge with his children and late wife Melissa.
He is survived by 2 daughters: Patricia (Wesley) James of Perry, Michelle (Daniel) deLeeuw of Avon, son: Dennis Murphy Jr. of Perry, brother: Terry (Diane) Murphy of Perry, grandchildren: Samantha James, Matthew (Amanda) James, Timothy (Jessica) James, Miranda (Alec Giannetto) deLeeuw, Zachary and Alexis deLeeuw, 3 great grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his wife: Melissa M. Murphy who passed away in 2010 and sister: Patricia Ann Murphy.
A Celebration of Life will be announced in the Spring of 2024.
